You are consistent in the management of procurement related processes and decisions. You are responsible for ensuring all goods & services are procured through a process that is fair, transparent and accessible to qualified vendors.
This position provides professional growth, development, strategic direction and management of the purchasing department.

The job involves:
- Responsibility for the overall leadership, strategic direction and management of the purchasing function
- Creating and introduces KPI’s for continuous improvement; expands expertise to support demand for new products and services
- Researching and evaluating supplier selection based on optimal price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, distribution capabilities,
reputation and performance history as well as compliance to all company policies and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)and related regulation
- Developing strategic relationships to maximize supply through MGE Corporate Procurement and other Buying Groups
- Reviewing, evaluating and approving specifications for issuing and awarding tenders through RFP processes
- Liaising with internal departments to identify new product demands, schedules and procurement needs. Forecasting requirements and ordering products to ensure availability for departments
- Developing, implementing, enhancing purchasing and contract management policies and procedures
- Working with relevant accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices;
- Maintaining full and thorough records to support reconciliation of accounts and audits; providing reports, business plans, presentations, and other information to the Chief Financial Officer
- Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
The ideal candidate has:
- University Degree in Business, Economics or Accounting
- Relevant professional designation
- A minimum of seven years senior level experience directing a large purchasing function preferably within the hospitality, gaming or related industries
- Thorough knowledge of proper purchasing principles, controls and buying techniques
- Proven negotiating skills
- Exceptional communication skills, organizational and time management skills
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Proven experience in developing strategic planning related to purchasing or business functions
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office
